Many of us like highlighting our eyes when we apply make-up. It is desirable to always use reputed brands for eye make-up: never compromise on quality. Also, remember to thoroughly remove your eye make-up before bedtime with a cleansing milk or cream. You can use any cleansing milk to remove eye make-up, but the cleansing milk should preferably be a little greasy and not watery.
Good eye make-up removers dissolve mascara easily without tugging at the delicate skin around your eyes. Beextra gentle while removing the make-up from your eyes. If you wear contact lenses, always remove your lenses before taking off your eye make-up.
EYE MAKEUP - Enhance your look
Once you have your basic work done beautifully move on to enhance it.
- Start by applying eyeliner preferably liquid (pencils wont make your eyes sparkle, they give your eyes a matte look) to your upper eyelid only. The color should be dark like black, charcoal gray, brown, deep blue, or any other dark color with shimmer. Remember to apply a very thin line or the whole look will turn upside down. The line should just trace your natural shape. Leave your lower lids bare for now.
- After the eyeliner dries out apply a sparkling pencil eyeliner of very light color matching the tone of shadow used on the brow bone for highlights to your lower lids on the inside. Be careful not to apply too much along your lower lash line. The idea is to apply this color inside your lower lid. The striking contrast between dark eyeliner on the upper lids and light on the lower works best for the look you are trying to achieve and will eliminate under eye dark circles and shadows.
Makeup Tips and Tricks
- The sheerest lip stain: Apply a clear lip balm. Then, with lips together, twirl a spot of dark, creamy-textured lipstick in the center of each lip (using a lip brush or the lip color itself ) until you have a dark stain. Blot lips together so the color blends into the lip balm.
- Soft finish for a penciled mouth: After lining lips and filling in with pencil, run a dry lip brush around the edge to soften the line. You'll be still have definition, but it will be less sharp, more natural looking.
- Moisturizing first during your makeup routine will help any foundation and/or concealer blend easier.
- Apply moisturizer downwards--this is the direction the tiny hairs on your face are facing, so this gives a more smooth look.
- Mixing foundation and moisturizer can make a good tinted moisturizer.
- If you're wearing foundation and/or concealer, make sure to cover it with powder, or all your makeup will soon disappear.
- Try to wear as little makeup as possible while exercising, because the sweat can get trapped in your pores, leading to breakouts.
- Apply blush upwards and outwards on the apples of your cheeks, towards the hairline.
- Bleed-proof lip gloss: For a cheer shiny look that's less likely to bleed, dot concealer around your mouth (at the outer border of the lip line) and blend with a fingertip. Then apply your gloss; the concealer will act as a barrier, that keeps color from migrating.
- The perfect pale mouth: Line lips with a pale-blue eyeliner pencil; blend color inward with a fingertip. Then brush a shimmery pink lipstick over your entire mouth. The blue edges soften the color, creating a striking, ice-kissed look.
