Filed under: Hair Care — Toni @ 9:48 am

Hair is remarkably a tough material. It can stand up to material abuse, but over time this can wreak havoc with its natural properties. The range of different types of hair is outrageous, ranging from tight wiry curls to ruler-straight. Three main types of hair in today’s human population, and have connected them to these three early races asian, caucasoid and african. Asian hair types mostly found china and japan.

Their hair is very straight, and always black in color. Caucasoid hair type is the most ‘varied’ of the three racial groups. They range from the fair-skinned people of north-west Europe to the broadly varying peoples of the Indian subcontinent. Their hair may be either wavy or straight, and the diameter differs widely too. The color ranges from black to a pale blond that is almost white, involving just about every possible shade in between. Curly hair is likely to dryness therefore you should use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Curly hair needs exactness in cutting to keep it under control. Straight hair tends to lie flat against your scalp when it cumulates grease.

Styling hair means temporarily or permanently changing its shape. Straight hair is very glossy and shiny as there is no curl pattern which allows the light to reflect off of the hair giving it a shiny finish. Some straight hair that appears dull is normally as it is damaged. Proper care is always important if you want beautiful healthy hair. Medium textured and straight hair is very malleable. Most people have medium hair. Medium hair is not too plumpy, not too thin, and has a diameter between 60-90 microns.

Medium hair has lots of body and genrally holds either a blow-dry shape or any type of hairstyle very well. It has the most styling adaptability of the three hair types. Wispy hair is complicated to grow long and is often better styled shorter. Use shine enhancing shampoo and conditioner. After towel drying, divide the wet stands with a wide tooth comb and use some silicon based shine-enhancing spray from ends to the roots of your hair.

Thick and strong hair normally has a mind of its own. A mid-length cut is probably easiest to manage. Overage frizziness can be brought under control by combing with a wide toothed comb and dampening with water to re-set curls.

Treatment for Different Hair Types

Filed under: Hair Care — Toni @ 6:24 am

1. Normal Hair

Wash your hair as often as you think it needs it – every day if necessary using a shampoo and a conditioner that suits you, and interfering with its natural function is little as possible.

Apply a little shampoo on the head, rub in well with your finger tips.

Do not rub the ends of the hair vigorously.

Use colouring processes with caution.

2. Dry Hair

Shampoo once only with a mild shampoo. If you massage scalp thoroughly the hair will be cleaned effectively.

Use a good cream conditioner, rinse thoroughly and keep brushing or combing 10 a minimum when wet.

If the hair is too dry, massage 2 tablespoons of warm almond oil or olive oil well into the hair and leave on for 30 minutes at least remove the oil by pouring shampoo directly onto the head, massaging well and rinsing.

Finger’dry or leave to dry in the open air, if possible. Hair dryers should be used with care.

Most day hair is inflicted, not inherited – and colouring, perming or straightening and bleaching are the principle culprits. Either avoid processing and wait for condition to improve or go for highlights or one of the milder colouring processes.

3 Oily Hair

Keep scrupulously clean and wash daily with a mild homemade shampoo. This will not step up sebaceous gland activity, but harsh-acting shampoos will. Avoid dry shampoos as well.

Add the juice of half a lemon or one tablespoon of vinegar to a jugful of water and use as a final rinse.

Use lower heat settings on blow dryers. This is because hot air currents can activate the sweat glands, step up sebum production.

As processing tends to dry out moisture within hair, mild colouring can improve the appearance of oily hair instead of bleaching.

4. Combination Hair

Discriminate between cleansing scalp and the ends of the hair. Each qualifies for separate attention. Give the scalp an astringent treatment before shampooing and follow with a home-made mild shampoo used once only. Finish with a conditioner on the ends only.

Use lower setting when blow drying.

Wash as soon as you feel your head itchy.

Have the dry ends regularly trimmed.
