Mousse: Available in the form of an aerosolized foam, it is used to keep the styled hair in place. As compared to spritz and sprays, it is softer and milder and does not make the hair stiff. Squeeze out a handful of foam, rub your hands together and work it into the hair before blow drying or styling.
Spritz and sprays: These are solutions of film-forming resins. They are meant to be sprayed on to the hair, after it has been styled, to keep the hair in place. It makes the hair feel stiff, harsh and unnatural. It is advisable to avoid excessive use for prolonged periods of time. Always ensure that you shampoo it out completely.
Sculpturing gel: These are mixtures of film-forming resins in gel form, and have become very popular, especially amongst the teen brigade. Like sprays, it is advisable to shampoo it out thoroughly.
Steps for Punk Hair Style
- Put the hair in three ponytails, starting at the middle of the crown and going to the middle of the back.
- Wrap one Feather wrap piece around each one of the ponytails. Use the wrap like you would a ponytail holder, twisting it around the ponytail until it is secure. On the second wrap bring your ponytail through halfway so that you own ends blend with the Feather wrap piece. Secure with bobby pins if necessary.
- Style the hair forward and spray to create more volume.
